Feeling IN to the body — interview with Aneesha Dillon

Feeling IN to the body

By Aneesha Dillon / October 7, 2010

Osho Pulsation has a certain reputation amongst Osho therapies as being tough, pushy, and cathartic.

It is true that Osho Pulsation is a high-energy method and uses techniques that can, and do, help people open to deep emotions, and to release their pain, their anger, their fears. But feeling and expressing emotions does not require your pushing; it requires your awareness, presence, sensitivity, a willingness to breathe, and the capacity to allow your own feeling to arise from within.

So it is important to remember that the capacity to feel and connect with deep, authentic feelings and emotions, is one that needs time, patience, and preparation for the body and the energy system.

Interview with Tarika Glubin

— Dear Tarika, how was the birth of the Transessence Technique?

I developed the technique years ago because I needed something that could bridge my experience in meditation with my daily life. I have been meditating for nearly 40 years and at the same time I work as a therapist. For some time these two things were different aspects of my reality but when I met Osho I understood, slowly, slowly, that actually he really wanted those experiences to come together: living in the world with the understanding that we are not our personality and also going deeper into meditation.

So, I know my life history to certain extent, I know how it takes over, I also found out that if you know too much of it nothing changes so I had to stop saying I know, I know. At that time I had a private practice working and I had a supervisor, Charlie, who was an alternative psychiatrist. I loved Charlie dearly because he had a different understanding about working with people than the traditional psychiatrists.

The Feeling Pairs

From Aneesha's book "Tantric Pulsation"

If you break down the word ‘emotion’ into its component parts – ‘e’ and ‘motion’ – you can see that it was originally formed from Latin roots to indicate a movement outwards.

This definition suits the Reichian understanding of human emotions. Fundamentally, emotions are seen as nothing but a movement of plasma, a wave of energy that passes through the liquid contents of the body, seeking expression and release.

Such a detached view may not mean much to us, when we are weeping over a lost lover, or getting angry about some offensive remark, but it certainly helps the Reichian therapist to understand the mechanics of restoring a healthy pulsation in the body of a client and opening the doors to happiness, greater vitality and a sense of well-being.
